The Event

Before Covid19 11,3% of the European population were facing housing precariousness. 50 million households were living in energy deficient houses and underprepared to face climate change. Now even with the furlough schemes, even with the E.U recovery plan, unemployment could reach 9,5% by the end of the year. Despite the fact that we are facing a second wave this fall, evictions have been taking place in many E.U countries. As lockdowns are again spreading across our continent new bankruptcies will occur...reinforcing the cycle of precarity. 

You may have been pushed to move out of your home already, you may have heard of someone you know who was unable to pay rent for their business. We have. 

This is why we need a Rentvolution. This is why we need to organize the first paneuropean demonstration for fair housing and make visible a hidden tragedy that is growing.The European action coalition for the right to housing is preparing a call to organise such a demonstration. Let's us help them and create a network of movements, parties, unions, collectives and individuals ready to make this a success and make sure that in the Europe to come there will be a roof for every head.
