Germany stands at a pivotal moment as the federal elections on Sunday, February 23rd, approach, following the collapse of the tense coalition between the SPD, FDP, and the Greens. As the far right makes gains in Europe and the USA, the AfD is currently polling in second place. Some CDU politicians are no longer ruling out a coalition government with the AfD.
Political divisions are deep, and voters are faced with a complex set of choices. Key issues such as economic revitalization, energy transition, immigration policies, and Germany’s role on the global stage, including its complicity in the Genocide in Gaza, have emerged as central themes. But what is truly at stake in this election, and what do the different parties really stand for?
Join us for a panel discussion with three political experts, as we explore the key positions of Germany’s major political parties and their potential impact on the country’s future. The event will take place on February 12th at Al Hamra, Raumerstraße 16.
